Vision Cruise have been matching up people to their perfect cruise holiday for over 25 years and have emerged as one of the leading independent cruise agencies in the UK. With offices worldwide they’re always looking to find the best price for your cruise adventures.

Their television show on the Holiday and Cruise Channel brings cruising direct to you – the only travel company with a Daily TV programme in the world. As a member of the CLIA, ABTA and ATOL you can relax and have peace of mind when booking your cruise holiday. A team of cruise specialists are available offering friendly and knowledgeable first hand advice.

Vision Cruise needed a website that would be able to integrate with third party data providers. This integration would allow the website to display a vast number of cruises from all the major cruise lines.

In addition to the cruise itineraries and basic pricing Vision Cruise wanted to get live pricing from each cruise line. Cruise pricing is ever changing with some deals only lasting a matter of hours so it’s essential to get the very latest prices from the cruise line. The site now includes ve pricing via API’s for several cruise lines including P&O, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, MSC and Fred Olsen.

The finished website uses WordPress as the content management system with a layer of programming implementing live pricing and cruise itineraries. The server is set up to run bash scripts at specific times of the day to get updates on all teh latest cruises, ships and offers.

A blisteringly fast arch was also required. To achieve this we developed a routine that creates a lookup table which is then used on the websites quick search. The quick search  can find and filter a single cruise almost instantly from 10s of thousands of individual cruises.

iprogress continue to work extremely closely with Vision Cruise creating new features and improving the site on a daily basis.

It was a difficult remit for a global site developing clever functionality, covering the UK, the US and Australia, but they have truly proved their ability in delivering unique websites.
